That looks like an original run Giant Beat (white Giant Beat lettering at 9 o'clock, stamp at 3 o'clock). Highly collectable (there are re-issues now, but that's an original).

Formula 602 Sound Edge Hi-hats - no newer than early '90s. Discontinued and collectable.

There's no ink on that Zildjian ride and no serial number (indicating pre-1994). I can't see how big it is but those rivets make me think it could be an original Beautiful Baby. Is it 19"? If it is, also highly collectable.

Wow. Definitely sell those individually.

And finally...Premier Drum kit, I didn't realise how pretty this really is. I'm afraid I can't tell what the wood is, the bass has some scuffs around the edge especially where the foot pedal goes, but the other two drums are spotless. It is all packed in hard cases, though the bass drum case has really seen better days. Also the small drum has a few very small dents in the drum skin. I have some more pictures of the cases but will put them on if required. I feel that I am swamping you all with pictures.

We LOVE pictures! No worries!

That's a beautiful kit and snare. I'm sure there's a collector who'll want those. But I don't know much about old Rogers and Premier drums.

Wow, This just gets better and better.
Those are really nice drums and cymbals.

The drum heads being damaged or worn means nothing to the drums value. All drummers change the heads when purchasing a kit if the heads are original their kept and put away. Those rims are germain to that kit and are important, if they needed rechrome work the new owner would except that responsibilty. The bass drums wooden hoops need some touch up but theres also players that would appreciate that condition (which is very good) and not touch them and play them as is!!! When you consider the years since they were new and the care given to them they would be considered excellant players condition.Doc

Call me sappy, but if I had the money I'd give it to you to just keep the drums in the family in the hope that your daughter or grandkid(s) would take them up at some point in the future.

(sniff, sniff..)

Beautiful kit though. Too nice to sell :)

Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

Thank you all so much, for your very kind thoughts and words, this weekend I am going to put the kit on Ebay, Drum kit all together with zyn cymbal , other cymbals separate, and the snare separate. Selling them all with their stands.
It would be lovely if we could keep it, but I think my mother would like the space back (Homes in England aren't very large). Both of my girls aren't interested in playing and quite frankly I am too old and tired to learn.
My dad was really amazed to think that you were all so kind to advise me, and said such lovely things about his kit. I know he is rather sad to part with it, but it is his decision.
I will let you know when I have put it on ebay, so maybe you can have a look, and tell me if I have the advert right.
Thanks again

It appears that you have put up good ads with detailed descriptions.
There is more than enough info there for someone to make a bid decision.
Make sure that if they ask you questions you respond promptly.

Nice job. Am I right in that Ringo played only black oyster pearl Ludwigs? I don't recall the blue or Premier brand. I'd edit your reference to Ringo. Maybe I'm wrong... Wish I lived in UK I'd buy them... Good luck.

To my knowledge,Ringo Had 6 drum kits that he used with the Beatles. The first one was a Premier mahogany duroplastic model 54 in 20/12/16 and 4x14 snare. The next 2 were Ludwig oyster black pearl downbeat kits 20/12/14 and "that "snare. The next 2 were the same oyster black pearl, but were classics in 22/13/16 and "that snare. The last one was a natural maple thermogloss hollywood kit in 22/12/13/16 and "that"snare. That refers to his trusty obp jazz festival 5 1/2 x 14.The catalog lists the jazz festival as a 5" deep shell but photos of Ringos kit suggest a 5 1/2 drum, with off set lugs.

Hi Everyone
I have had a look in the premier Archive books but not really too sure what I am looking at, the kit maybe in the 1966 book but not too sure. So I won't mention it as I am unsure if I would say the correct thing.

I have revised the listing to say Blue/Black shell kit and to say that the bass is a 20" and I hope that I have made it clear that it is the same colour as Ringos but not the same make, and Dad says you are correct Ringos shell kit was a Ludwig. Thank you all so much for all your wonderful help.

Hi Everyone,
Just an update, I managed to sell the Giant Beat (to the US), the Hi hats (to Australia ) and the snare (UK) .
The rivet cymbal and surprisingly the Premier kit didn't go, but I will now put them all together and give it one more try on Ebay. So thank you all again for your fantastic advice and help.
Oh yes, the girls and I decided to buy a drumkit each (Much to dads horror!), after you were all so sad about Dads Drum kit going. So it got me thinking and this is the drum kit , we purchased X 3. It goes on a charm bracelet so very managable, and much more us (He was much happier when he saw the size of our drum kits ) .
Hope you all approve... in memory of the original drum kit, (which hopefully will go soon) XXX
