Is your snare really that far away from the toms or does it just look that way?

Woah, that kit just blew my mind. That's one heck of a drum set. Seriously, like wow. You've been working on that for a while, right? Well, it shows.

If I had to critique it, I'd say I really don't like the cymbals having the logos cleaned off. But still, your kit is definitely a looker.

Fear not!

My Paiste 2002's will have logos intact!

The a-customs had the logos removed with "Goof off" because they were smeared and faded. They looked pretty worn.

Wow, they are quite nice, trkdrmr!

...Must have cost a bomb!!

I got "artist pricing" so the shellpack cost roughly what an intermediate kit might cost.

but add in the imac, firebase, mics , rack, cymbals...ouch....

I've been waiting to see this for a while now, and WOAH that kit is a beast!
Looks awesome man, congrats.
I have 2 questions for you...
How much do these drums weigh compared to the average wood drums?
Are they much louder than wood?

Once again man... awesome kit.

They are probably similar in weight to saturn shells. They are not bad.

They resonate more, and are warmer than wood. They have a projection that comes from that resonance and not from high end "cut" like oak for example.

The 22" x 18" kick has the same low end as a 24x18" dw collectors kick.

The kick drum with packing material and box was 43lbs.

You were endorsed by Trick weren't you? You have a great drumset there! I would set it up closer though, floortom and snare are way to far apart for my taste. But those octobans and the tom sizes are really the bomb. You have all the gear I want. The 7 piece with a 12" side snare and 4 octobans, and a double pedal, and then I haven't even talked about the cymbals...

Have a lot of fun with this baby!

Actually, you are right. I left the toms out a bit for pictures and such. I just adjusted them in by quite a bit.

You finally got it! Those are some wicked cool drums, damn. I like the "natural" brushed aluminum look as well.

Very nice my friend. Great set, great cymbals and hardware, and plenty of room to operate. The doctor is in.

Well, it's no bubinga wood, but I guarantee you that there is no glue! :)

I thought of midnight blue (like Stewart Copeland's) but I wanted people to know it's METAL. I also wanted to go conservative, so if I add drums (evil grin) there will be no issues matching color.

So far, it records like a dream. In my test recordings, with *zero* effects or eq it still sounds massive. Affordable mics with a ridiculously nice kit is the only way to fly.

Again, there is no dreamy looking wood, but it does look elegant in a technical way. And it SOUNDS like wood.
