Default Just bagged a Ludwig Epic Euro kit!

I just won the eBay auction for this Ludwig Epic Euro 6 piece kit. It was a floor demo model at a music store in Marion,IL. They told me it was on the floor maybe 6 months at most and was played under supervision for maybe 15 - 30 minutes a week.

Sizes: 22" x 18" kick, 10" x 7-1/2" and 12" x 8" toms, 14" x 14" and 16" x 16" toms, and 14" x 6-1/2" snare.

Won the auction for $460, plus shipping.

Here are some pics:

I'm not sure where the Epics fit in the Ludwig pecking order, but those look sweet and what a great price. I think the fact that it has a 10 lug bass drum puts them up there. Not that that matters. Great find. Enjoy. The finish appears to be a natural fade?

Thank you! My wife is already in love with them. Haha.

Man, I toiled with this decision. Do I want to spend this money on a drum kit now? I searched DW and found some reviews that were very positive. Icing on the cake was Bermuda gave them a big thumbs up. :)

It's a natural finish fade to black is what I understand the finish to be from the reviews. Antique bronze lugs, rods, and mounts. Ludwig factory heads, but that's okay. I can change them later.

I understand, I may be wrong, the toms are 6 ply: 2 ply birch, middle two plies maple, and outer 2 plies birch.

Lol, the rub is I'll be out of town when they are delivered next week so I'll be itching to get back and play them.

Nice kit. The kick looks like a 22x14 to me. No biggie though.

Congrats!

Correction: In another post, he gave the overall Epic series a thumbs up, not this particular kit.

Nice kit. The kick looks like a 22x14 to me. No biggie though.

I was thinking the same thing....looks smaller than the 22 x 18.

Congats on your epic deal. Iv'e seen those kits around and I always catch myself staring at them. Nice!

Definitely not an 18" bass - it does look more 14" though. Should sound killer!

Very nice indeed. I almost went for the Epic series for my kit but decided to go with the slightly cheaper Element instead- good deal!

Congrats on that steal! That kick looks more like a 16 then a 14 to me. Hope you're enjoying it :)

This is turning into a real nightmare. Full of frustrations and all sorts of bullshit excuses on the seller's part as to why it has not shipped.

The seller is Byassee Music, a music store in Marion Illinois. I paid via paypal on 9-11-2012. The eBay sight said it would arrive at my house 9-17 via UPS.

As of yesterday 9-19-2012, it STILL had not shipped out. I've called 3 timesI keep getting promised "it will ship out tomorrow". I've been told that on 3 separate days. By 3 separate people.

The person I spoke with was the rudest individual I've spoken to in a while.

Yesterday I filed an eBay Buyer Protection complaint ticket. In 7 days, if the seller has not repsonded, I will get all my money back.

Don't ever do business with Byassee Music. It's not worth the grief or frustration and all the bullshit you have to put up with.

I think the Marion Illinois Better Business Bureau needs to hear of this bad business.

Tell them (in a dark and manly voice, of course) that if they don't ship your damn drums today or tomorrow you want all your money back. Behaving like that company does now is unacceptable, and don't hesitate to tell them that. Maybe you haven't roared loud enough?

FINALLY!!! I got an email through eBay that says they shipped it this afternoon. Let's see, I paid for it 9-11. Today is 9-20. Took them 9 days! 3 phone calls to the music store and 2 calls into eBay Customer Support.

According to Ludwig's site, the Epic Euro has a 22 x 18 bass drum:

Cameras can do funny things - it looks shallower to me.

Great deal, BTW.

Hey rogue_drummer: I was just browsing some old Ludwig threads, and came across this one.

Then saw another one where you said the Epic kit actually came with a 24 x 14" bass drum,
and you traded that away for a 20" dia. one.

Is that what happened? Were you able to find a 20 that matched the kit?
Just curious.
