Default Yamaha RC Inquiry

Hello all! I've searched -a lot- and have found some great info. However, I haven't had any luck regarding some specifics on Yamaha Recording Customs.

I've learned that Recording Customs / 9000's in the late 70's and very early 80's had thinner shells and rounder bearing edges (where the edges were the same color as the shells) compared to the later 80's and on models which had sharper edges that were not painted / lacquered and had slightly thicker shells. I've read that some say there are sonic differences between the two shells. I understand the general sonic differences between round bearing edges and sharp ones but I was wondering if there are any members here who have experience with the two RC shells and can share their insight on what specific feel and sonic differences there are. Any video links would be great too. :)

If there's an older discussion that I've missed and answers my questions please post the link.

Thanks everyone!
