I went to the prelim at the GC near me (San Jose, CA). This Latin guy won, he was really awesome, I think hes gonna go pretty far in the competition.

Hope you do well too!

Best of luck ... I was a first round judge here locally and one of my fellow judges was non other than Ramon Sampson last years national winner, and he is only 18 years old, and a very cool young man.

Keep a good groove and look like you having fun really helps in the scoring ... the winner of the first round here only played a kick a snare two cymbals and hats ... but just killed with just that!

You see him all the time on "MyCymbal" it was Pee Wee Jackson.

Again best of luck relax and have fun!

Thanks for the advice Kenny... wish I had read that before-hand, HA!
Alas, I did not place in the top 2 for this nite. It WAS showmanship & definte skill(needless to say) that came out ahead. It was a tough nite for 11 competitors. My lady told me they shorted me my 3min, but who knows...
Too bad Guitar Center cheapened out this year... no discount cards or giveways or anything!

Well, 'til next year!

Thanks for your input
