Free-floating mylar plies

I think, in truth, most companies' regular two ply heads are free-floating. It just means the plies are not laminated or bonded at any point, they are just joined at the crimp hoop.

I've cut up a number of companies heads after use to use the mylar for patches, etc, and this is what I've found.

Though we don't use the term "free floating," our two-ply heads are only adhered around the perimeter. This allows for greater resonance and response.

Cheers!
