DW2000 Upgrading?

The most common complaints with the budget DW pedals is the cheaper pedal hinge that connects the pedalboard with the heelplate. The red hinge is DW's ball bearing hinge. You could give that a shot.

Beyond that, you could swap out springs, cams, chains, or heelplates.... but check what you're investing in the parts before you go buying too much, because you could be putting in more money than the pedal is worth, new... and at that point you might as well just go buy a new, more advanced pedal.

You could also experiment with third-party beaters to see if there's something out there you like better than DW's. And that's a fairly cheap investment.
