Mapex Pedals?

I was just wondering if anyone else here has ever used (or is using) Mapex Tri-Tonal bass drum pedals. I never have, but the tri-tone beater sounds interesting...

I've never tried the tri-tonal, but the first double pedal i bought was the P390-a (http://usa.mapexdrums.com/hardware/pedals/index.asp) which weren't necessarily bad for entry-level (around $130 US), but they left a lot to be desired. In addition, after a few years of moderate play, they became very lag-y(they lacked the response they initially had) and several of the screws stripped when I was taking them apart to have two singles. I'm not sure about their upper end pedals though. Hope this helps somewhat...
