So I was checking my snare drum hoops for flatness on a granite countertop, and decided to check my snare wire the same way,,,I was surprised 😮 how out of shape they where,,these are standard Ludwig wires,,that have a flat part where the wires are soldered in,,and slight bend at the tip of the end plate,,where the string would go,,both areas had hi and low spots across them,,
The flat end of the plate was easy to get it to lay perfectly flat,,I used a rubber screwdriver handle and lightly tapped until it was straight and flat,,the harder part was the bend end of the plate,,but my countertop had what they call a bullnose rounded edge,,,I was able to use the slope of the countertop edge to get the other ( with the slight bend it) perfectly flat also,,question do,you guys ever check this,,or am I overthinking,,,,
