Risen Drums

Forum readers... I am new here. I am new to the forum thing in general.

Have any of you heard of a custom company from Minneapolis called Risen Drums? They just built a kit that glows... like GLOWS. Really bright. I'm trying to find out if this kind of thing has been done before. Check it out...

I figure if this has been done before then this community would know about it.

Welcome to the forum...sweet looking kit, sounds fantastic as well! I have not seen one like that particular one, but I have seen some others make some real lame attempts at lighting the bass drum. This one totally takes the prize!

I love it! although I'm scared to think how much it costs....

although I'm personally not a fan of the snare drum sound.

still that kit is quite something. I hope no one in the band is epileptic.

One of my friends has a Risen kit that he custom ordered & although they sound good, the hardware left a lot to be desired. The chrome started chipping off the lugs & he had to eventually get all of them replaced. Granted the 'builder' is not likely the one doing the chrome work, but the lug design just seems weak to me & I would not drop the kind of money he did on any of their kits.

However.... this glow kit LOOKS really cool.

Spaun makes a glow kit also big $$$ through. Glow kits are sweet just can't. afford them.

That's insane. Yeah I don't like the sound of the snare either but that would be really cool to have on stage. I bet we see it at the super bowl or something event like that this year :).

yesterday i actully ended up going to this church thing were a band named echoing angels play, and my bassest had his gear up at the church,we have all played there i used to be the bassest, anyways i talked to the guys in the band and the drummer plays risen drums,he had a fourpeice in a silver glass glitter with a blue glass stripe sounded pretty nice

Hey I got My Endorsement with risen about 5 months ago and I could not be happier
with the kit. I have yet to hear a snare that can match its tone. my toms are so punchy
and thick and the kick drum rumbles the floor. I guess it all depends on the demotions of your
kit. glow kit is pretty sick!

Hey Scottbfd,

Any pictures or specs on the kit you obtained from Risen? If you have a link to a sound clip of your kit that would be helpful too. If not, no worries.

I have done some checking into Risen and they look like a good kit but not sure how pricey.

Congrats man!

I'd love to see some pics when you got them!

Do you know if Lester Estelle is still endorsed by Risen?

Was using studio time when i filmed this vid so I Could Putt something special
together as far as playing goes but it gets the idea across. I wasn't happy with the snare
sound at this particular time but it sounded good on the recording so we kept it like that for
this tracking session.

Crazy sick. I think the hard part would be during a long gig getting a headache or some epileptic seizure from the thing. The dude was like "I can't stop looking at it, but it's not helping my headache at all." Doesn't take away from the beauty of the thing or what LEDs + the material of the shells can do. It's truly fab. I'd love to see it in a live session.
