Worn Drum Stands-Restore!

Hey Guys,

I recently bought a drum bag full of 7 drum stands, clamps etc.
I am wanting to restore these and try and get rid of them and make some ca$h :)

Pretty much, they are all in working order, they all need thorough cleaning.
Some have rust spots and some are just quite dirty in general.

Unfortunately i dont have any photos on me at the moment.

However, i am wondering about some home-made tips to help restore these gems.
i am wondering about something that will help get some of the rust spots off, something that will get any other marks off it etc, and something that i can finish the stands with that will give it that new shiny look.

I have read about things to clean rust off hoops and lugs, but obviously i cant soak a whole stand for 30 mins haha

Please all suggestions will be helpful as im abit stuck haha!

Thanks All!

Used stands are not worth a great deal of cash unless they are both rare and desirable in your area.
Take them apart, place them in a trash can. Add Dawn Dish soap and water. let them soak.
Rinse and dry them. Put them back together and put them on the E-Bay.
List them individually for highest possible sell price.
