Default Drum summer camp in Europe?

Hi all,

Has anyone heard about a drum camp taking place this summer (2018) in Europe (anywhere, as long as it is an English - or French - speaking camp)?

I'm a newbie and started to practice less than a year ago. Because of my job (that I love!), I haven't been able to practice as much as I would have liked to, nor to attend my drum lessons regularly. I'd like to take advantage of my summer holidays to catch up a bit, and even improve (who knows) during an intensive week of drumming.

Rock is my passion (so Jazz camps not quite my cup of tea).

And if it can taste a bit like my old teenage summer camp, that would just be the cherry on the cake!

Many thanks in advance for any tip or advise you may have.

Cheers
Alineke

Sorry, sir. Going to our usual summer camp in August but it is in upstate New York. Plenty of intense drumming, though!

The Freddie Gee drum academy is happening in the U.K. at the end of this month.

A camp with well known pros attending as instructors.

The above link gives more info.

Thank you so much guys for really good tips!!!

The Freddie Gee Drum Academy was just a perfect option (dates fitting), but they've just told me they're fully booked :-(

Sounds like a great plan for next year though.

Will continue my (bit desperate now) quest :-)

There's one called 21 Drums, hosted in a recording studio located in the Irish midlands. It's a remote countryside location.

Again, unfortunately it's sold out unless you're successful with the cancellation list.

Lineup is the same as last year with one added drummer. Mike Johnston, Ash Soan, Mark Guiliana, and this year Keith Carlock as well.

All the attendees live together in the same complex, you eat meals and do activities with the pro drummers.

One to bear in mind for next year maybe.

There were a couple of places that came up the other day. I attended Freddie Gee for five or six years and they work you hard, especially Craig Blundell. But then, that's the point.

Thanks again mates!
I've discovered new drum schools/camps thanks to you.

I'm afraid I eventually failed at finding what I needed for this summer (an adult camp, for beginners, in August, with available places, in Europe).

But I'm fully ready for next year now, thanks to all the infos/tips I collected :-)

And it was so difficult to collect, that I'd like to share with you all the outcome of weeks of relentless search.

First, I was inspired by drum summer camps taking place in the US, and listed here: http://drummagazine.com/2018-drum-camp-guide/

As far as Europe is concerned, here are my findings (Disclaimer: this list is totally arbitrary and subjective. It is nothing more than stuffs I found online and by talking with music players and teachers, incl. you guys, and that sounds/looks pretty cool. I'm not making any publicity, nor recommending stuffs, esp. as I haven't tested any):

English speaking camps

In Greece: Lab drum camp (31st May 5th June 2018)
https://www.facebook.com/labmusiceducation/

In Croatia (Jazz) drum camp (11th edition: 22-28 july 2018)
http://www.croatiadrumcamp.com/

In the UK: Freddie Gee Drum Academy (19th edition: 30th July, 3 August 2018)

In Ireland: 21 Drums (14-21 August 2018)
https://21drumscamp.com/

In Italy: Drummers camp Sardinia (6-13 October 2018)
https://www.drummerscamp.com/home-en

Maybe English speaking camps (not sure though)

(Germany) Creativ drum camp (23-27 July 2018)
https://www.percussion-creativ.de/ve...m-camp#content
https://www.facebook.com/events/407617376358201/

(Hungary) Anika Nilles Groove camp (6-9 September 2018)
https://www.facebook.com/events/781958798861319/

French speaking camps (should another froggie visits this forum :-))

(France) 360 Experience Drum Camp (2-6 July2018)
https://gss.amy-prajoux.com/

(France) Stage schirmeck (2-6 July 2018)
http://schirmeck.wix.com/stage
https://www.facebook.com/StageSCHIRMECK/

(France) International drum summer camp (11th edition: 7-8 July 2018)
https://www.facebook.com/newdrumsunl...0048948014906/

(Belgium) Indie drum stage (12-15 April 2018: Next edition in 2019, dates TBC)

Hope it may help other lost souls.

it would be absolutely terrific if this thread could continue to live and drum mates add up to the list!

Cheers to all

https://www.facebook.com/events/781958798861319/..

At the clinic where i was from Anika Nilles she spoke perfectly English..

Such things mostly depend a little on the audience and how many of them speak the native language from the drummer..

Every clinic where i was untill now, the drummer asked this question and after that spoke English, even Manu Katche in Brussels spoke English and not French..lol..

But i guess you can also always contact the organisation about that..
