Welcome my new baby....Pearl Masters MCX

Well, after a lot of thought and reflection I decided to go ahead and purchase the pearl drums I was debating on. So far I do not regret the decision one bit. The pictures don't do the wrap justice, they look amazing in person. I haven't played in about five or six months, so the chance to play again feels so great. I went with a cheap hardware pack and zht cymbal pack to use for now until I can work and get some money saved to replace them. I'm thinking of going with K's or back with A customs for the cymbals. This setup will do me for now though since the new project I'm working on won't be ready for some time anyways.

Specs...

Pearl Masters MCX
maple
24x18
13x10
16x16
(guessing on the sizes, i'm not completely sure because you can't buy them in a pack like this.)

Bronze glass glitter wrap.

Hardware is a pdp pack that came with some pretty heavy duty hardware, I was suprised. The snare stand is pretty impressive. The other two stands are some cheap sp boom stands or something like that. Just wanted a good solid double braced stand for now.

Throne is my trusty camo pork pie fat boy.

The cymbals are Zildjian ZHT
20,18,16,14

and...on to the porn...

I was down at guitar center this past weekend. I fell in love with this kit and for like 1399 USD its a steal. Cannot wait to get a full time job to finance this baby.

I got it from guitar center today for 899! That was the deal I could NOT pass up. :)

Hey Broken Glass, Nice kit man. Pearl make great drums. Bronze glass glitter beautiful and you can't beat ludwig snares. Welcome to the 24" club. Rock On.

899????? wowwwww you lucky lucky...person haha

yea. Believe it or not I saw the same kit, same price before Xmas. I thought for sure it would be gone. So you can imagine my surprise when I walked in the other day and saw it still there. It would have been pretty hard to pass up that steal.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm glad that the deal you saw before Christmas was still hanging around...kind of just meant to be, huh? I really dig the sparkle, too. I have come around a great deal on sparkle finishes and really like the gold/orange/champagne type colors. Nice job on the snare, too. I'm glad it cleaned up so easily for you.

One word of advice, don't drum barefoot or your dog may mistake your foot for his chew toy and make your footwork pretty tough in the future:)

...hmmmm.

It wouldn't surprise me to see you post that somebody gave you an attic full of old Turkish K's with the run of good fortune that you have had these past few weeks. If that does happen I am going to have you pick my lottery tickets from now on.

Great looking kit. Great score.

I reckon Chris Adler is going to come round to his house and give him a couple of free mb20s along with an old ludwig vistalite.

Brokenglass that kit is amazingly gorgeous...jealous as the others...what a STEAL to say the least not only did you get a Merry Christmas but a truly HAPPY NEW YEAR with that price. NICE!!!

That is definitely a great score. Sheeesh, 899? Man, i'll take 2 of those! lol!!

What a finish! Amazing price for great drums like this. The ludwig supraphonic is still the best sounding snare I've ever played. Great stuff.
