Default drum heads

i have a Gretsch catalina club. its time to replace the heads, and was wondering is there a specific head that jumps out at people for playing rock music. the heads that r on it r evans g1. i am looking at the the g2. also which is better clear or coated. thanks for reading

I have 2 catlinas and went through a few head combos before I found the one I liked which is coated G2s. I tine as low as possible and the floor toms are soooo deep- warm and punchy. Great sound.

Have clear G2s on the other kit and I am waiting to change them- too boingy for my taste. I think that head would be better suited to a higher tuning than JAW.
