Default Drumming Headphones

Hey guys, I'm looking around for over-ear headphones that I can use for drumming along to songs that also have good ear protection. Are the Bose QuietComfort 15 noise canceling headphones a good option? Thanks in advance!

Noise cancelling headphones aren't what you need.

Noise cancelling 'phones work by "listening" to the ambient noise and then cancelling that out. They're great in environments where there is a constant, uniform background noise such as in an aircraft. I don't think they'd react quickly enough to be worthwhile in a dynamic sound environment.

Look for isolating headphones instead.

Patch - welcome. Do a search on headphones. Several recent threads discuss the differences between many brands and models.

These are what I like. They are ear plugs, and head phones. They limit the Vol. to 82 decibels and they don't have the boomy low end, that over the ear phones have. The drums sound more natural, but quieter.

I used to have a pair of the Vic Firth SIH1's for about 4 years until they finally gave out. They are comfortable, but when the padding on the ears wears out they are almost unbearable to wear for an extended time. Great option and can be had for around $50.

I recently picked up some Direct Sound EX-29's and they are much better, very comfortable and great sound.
