Default Vintage Tama Question

I was wondering what wood the Imperialstars and Artstars were made from in the late 70's or early 70's Does someone know?

Should be in the tama history section.

Imperialstars were philippine mahogany. Artstars were birch with a cordia wood outer ply.

It took a whole six minutes; but that's still not a DW record. thanks.

The question came up because I was talking at work with somebody about the new Imperialstars and saying they are probably better than the original. I should have bet on it. :)
