Default Taking a break from drumset!?

I wonder would it be smart to abandon drumset for a wile? I playing for two years, I have very bad grip and hand technique, i know just few rudiments, so i was thinking to totaly abandon my drumset and work on snare and practice pad only.

I suggest to you that instead of quitting, to find a good teacher to help you eliminate your bad habits and start some good ones.

Are you working with a teacher? If not, that may be a better option for you. Even with a teacher I still do a lot of snare and practice pad work but we also work on the kit. For me, it keeps me interested, being able to mix it up. Also I like being able to apply what I've done on the practice pad and learn how to effectively move it over to the kit.

No, keep playing drums and just try and translate what you do on the pad to the kit. Shouldn't be too hard..

never stop playing. you are a percussion WARRIOR. if you are not gigging, day = drumset. night = pad or snare drum.
