Three dimensional printed drum finishes.

During the course of my workday, I had a chat with some of the gents at Adobe. Some of the tech they're working on is pretty neat.

Take a look at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAIN5TeHb_g

The transition from flat-bed to cylindrical printing is pretty straightforward, and might make for a neat finish-option for drums.

Russel Brown has been doing cool things for years and that's another cool thing!

When I was a prepress operator we did some very cool things using metallic inks with multi channel images. I used printing plates for my own artwork by burning an image on a plate and then using silver solution to develop a B/W image on top of the plate. It made for a similar sort of raised outline of the photo.

I worked in ad agencies and industrial design companies and I can't believe I got to use P-shop every day for good money. It all crapped out when the recession hit. Oh well.
