A coincidence... just after the last post I looked at my YT recommended videos and I get the Chick Corea Trio (although I guess this isn't technically a trio performance). I never knew he had a trio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlnwHDc8Rgk

Yes, Steve Smith must be on some serious dose of steroids playing two
instruments like that at the same time!

Isn't his trio the most famous thing he's done? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id3QU5nJXQg

I first heard of him through RTF in the 70s in and various larger outfits. Roy's drumming in that link is super tasty.

Chick Corea has made several trio albums. Check out the 2012 CD he did with Eddie Gomez and Paul Motian called Further Explorations. That is two CD's of jazz greatness. Peace and goodwill.

Chick Corea trio w/Roy Haynes on Drums....(If I remember correctly, 1968)..."Now He Sings,
Now He Sobs"....the thing about this Chick Corea trio album was that Roy played Paiste
Flat Rides! I think it was the first recording of flat rides.
