If I am not within 10 feet of a percussion instrument, I start to get the shakes.....

Too late for that, it's not under control, hence the thread lol. What do you do when it is a problem?

If it's your business, how can you ever, possibly, be late? You simple need to re-adjust your "starting time" according to your lifestyle.
It is my business and that's why I can be late. I always call and tell them that I am running late and will be there in an hour or whatever, they are happy that at least I inform them and they are not stuck wondering if I will show

Well at least this thread brought to light the similarities between cricket and drumming.

I think about all the regulars here a lot too, what they are doing. Wouldn't it be cool if we could all meet somewhere in the world for a blow out weekend?

Yes, I unreservedly offer my house as the location, & reducing my personal cost has nothing whatsoever to do with that offer (yeah right!)

Problem?

I have two pro kits, even though I don't need two.

I have lost a ton of money on bands, yet still want to be part of one.

I spent way to much to build a home studio.

Sometimes I go into a drum shop just look at the pretty drums.

I have over 4000 posts on this forum alone (why?)

Humm....

I don't see a problem.

Much of my job is driving, my average day is between 3 and 7 hours behind the wheel. Most times I can practice one hand stick control, on the country straight roads, the knee steers and I get both sticks up. The dashpad is a very realistic drum feel. Sometimes I love my job.

Ah yes Swiss, my other wood related project. Maybe I just have wood fetish issues. Come to think of it, I'm replying to you at 04:45AM. Problem? Nah, not seeing it!

As long as your significant other is human and you're not dating a wooden mannequin. Ouch, think of the splinters.

Kidding aside, I do love things that have a wood grain finish.

Absolutely, it's a disease. We are drumaholics - you'll either admit it or you're still in the denial phase.

I was brought up in a family where my Dad and my Uncle (my Dad's brother) also had the disease. My Dad was a drummer and Uncle played brass/woodwinds.

When I was about 15 and they realized, I had it too, they came out and told me so and loved every second of it. They told me my life would never be the same again and they were right.

30 years later, I still have it. Though I've become domesticated with wife and child, I find it now to be my saving grace in life. Having been through 3 corporate downsizing's within the last 7 years. It's music that can keeps me floating and breathing air.
