Default Awesome gig today!

Today I played in a small kind of bar which has under 18 open mics. My band decided to give it ago and when I walked in the kit didn't look much at all and most of the stands were vintage so I was like "This may sound bad...". But the kit actually sounded amazing, the only bad part was the bottom head on the snare needed a bit more tuning. So anyways all I had were my cymbals and sticks, I didn't bring my pedal (as it's heavy as hell) and I hate having to use stock pedals but I was surprised when the pedal was a DW7000 and playing with it felt great! It was probably the best I played at a gig not to mention I didn't have my stands either and they only had two vintage stands so I decided to comprimise with my secondary crash as primary and my ride as a crash AND ride and it sounded great! Not to mention I tried a 5 piece at the gig for a gig rather than the usual 4 piece.

But I played all the songs perfect with probably one small mistake on the bridge of a song but I had loads of people saying I was awesome and it made me feel awesome! The sound was also great for such a small little bar and I'd definitely play there again. Maybe 30-40 people were there but that didn't stop me having a good time!

30-40 people is actually a decent turnout in some places. Congrats.

I'd rather have completely stuffed room with 25 people, than a HUUUGE room with 60 people. It just feels much bettter close up and personal :)

Love hearing about great gigs Chris. You must be floating. I know it really elevates my mood when I come off a great gig.

Thanks alot man :) I've got a few gigs next month and one in a pretty big venue over here. Pretty stoaked and then another one with my band and maybe my friends band (filling in) on the same night. So that's gonna be fun! That's a big venue too.

It really makes me happy when I play gigs and I do well. All comes to the drum set-up in the end of the day for me.

The most I've played to is 2,000 people. I wasn't that scared, that was a thing for all the schools in my area and I nailed it. Though, two gigs were I've played to 200 people I've done pretty meh. Do much better in smaller places by far but these places were also small.
