Default drum notation mathematics

what type of mathematics is involved?

1/4+1/4+1/8+1/8+1/8+1/8=1

this type of stuff?

time signatures they dont add up the way you wrote it out though.

quarter note = 1 beat ; eighth note = 1/2 beat

so...

1/4 note
+
another 1/4 note
= 2 beats

+
two 1/8 notes
= 3 beats

+
another two 1/8 notes
= 4 beats


= 1 measure of 4/4 time
