wow! some hard rock choices appearing in the thread now. something i played all the way through that was suprisingly fun was "jesus of suburbia" by green day. when played with the track, it can be a really satisfying song to play, and not too hard to learn.

When I feel like singing while I play:

Good - Better Than Ezra
How You Remind Me - Nickelback
Legs and Sharp Dressed Man - ZZ Top

When I feel just like playing:

Flirtin With Disaster - Molly Hatchett
That Smell - Lynyrd Skynyrd
The Price - Twisted Sister
Rock n Roll All Night, God Gave Rock N Roll To You, Black Diamond - KISS
Wild SIde - Motley Crue

There's more on my IPAQ and I like them all, but some are just to use as warmup and some are what we play in the band. Great thread, I love a lot of these tunes you all have listed. Gotta start adding them for myself. :-)

it's cool how everyone isn't putting the songs with the craziest, most difficult drumming. that would be missing the point. anyway i had to narrow my list down to popular rock bands. there are just too many.

Bonham - Fool in the Rain (Led Zeppelin)
Peart - Subdivisions (Rush)
Danny Carey- Merkaba (Tool)
Robert Ellis - Hair (PJ Harvey)
Jimmy Chamberlin - Tristessa (Smashing Pumpkins)

How would it be missing the point if your top 5 drumming songs contain just that? We all like things for our own reasons.

My top 5, in no order...

Candiria- "300 Percent Density" (title track from the album), Kenneth Schalk (in fact, every song with any drumming on this album blows me away equally, both technically and MUSICALLY)
Mahavishnu Orchestra- "Dream" from The Lost Trident Sessions, Billy Cobham
The Dillinger Escape Plan- "Destro's Secret"

Hmmm.....this is way too hard, I love so many different drumming approaches on so many different kinds of songs.
