Find a teacher you like, sign up for lessons, learn to read and try and find other musicians to play with.

Most fun you can have with your clothes on!

I liked the teacher I had my lesson with, but he's a very busy chap (a good sign I think) and only has free slots when I'm stuck at work.

I am in limbo waiting for the council person to come off holiday so we can find out if I'm going to be able to continue my what I considered to be perfectly reasonable practicing at home. That's 45 mins to an hour, 3 or 4 days a week, never later than 8.30pm and 2 of those sessions being at the weekend in middle of day.

Meantime I'm looking into the vic firth mutes, (any opinions?) I desperately want to play, I find Stick Control and the practice pad insuffciently entertaining on their own (and I really suck so it's frustrating too :D )
