Default Karma - how i love thee!!

Howdy gang,

A month ago I discussed an issue i was having with a band I was working with - more specifically the drummer.

here's the thread for nostalgia

http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/s...back+your+gigs

WhoIsTony said that karma would work it all out and I'm happy to say that it bloody well has in a spectacular way!

Firstly that drummer.....who took his gigs back now has none because he got sacked by the band....and who got the gig! ME!!! Just weddings but a very busy band which will really help me money wise and security.

Secondly I am now involved in a very exciting online lesson project which will be launched soon.

Thirdly - I've been asked to do a regular monthly column in UK magazine - Drummer.

Stoked for all these things and many other exciting things coming up.
For those going through lean times, hard times, conflicts of interest. Stick at it, conduct yourself with dignity and it will all work out.

Thanks all.

keep on drumming!

Dave

Nice on all three counts!

It's always worth being professional when it comes to other musicians. I'm really glad no bridges were burned. That's what it's all about.

Great news on the financial security, too. I'm really pleased for you. That must be a bit of a relief.

Cheers dude. Yeah massive relief. Perk of the job i guess but at least for the next 6 months I know it will all be fine and I can plan things.

Now is when you call him and ask if he wants to sub a few gigs.

I think you know what to do next. And since you're in the karma black, you should be able to pull off a punk move without incurring the wrath.

Superb news Dave - Karma indeed!

Is your new online lesson deal in conjunction with Nick Carter's new site? (Just curious).

Great news on the column too. A bit of additional exposure never did anyone any harm. I'm interested to see the changes in Drummer Magazine due to change of editor.

Thanks everyone for the nice words. Means a lot.

@keep it simple - not through Sticks in Motion no. another project. That looks cool though.

Hopefully Gemma will help move the magazine in the right direction.
I know her through a course we were on. On that there was a roudn table with the then Rhythm and Drummer mag editors.....i tore into them about their educational content...maybe that made an impression lol.
