Sabian..how was the name born?

Old news, named for Robert Zildjian's kids: Sally, Billy, and Andy.

Andy takes great pleasure at NAMM calling himself Andy Sabian. :)

Just to make you feel better, SM, I wouldn't have known, just as I had no idea that the first Paiste Cymbals were produced in 1906, by Estonian Musician, Michail Toomas Paiste, in his instrument repair shop in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Glad he didn't name it Bisaan (Billy, Sally, Andy).

Or Ansabi, Anbisa, Saanbi or Biansa, for that matter.

It's a play on the French words C'est bien... Seeing as it's a Canadian company in New Brunswick...

Was hoping it had some tie-in to the illuminate... guess the illuminati have little/no interest in the drumming world.

Repeat after me - there is no member called JustJames. There never was a member called JustJames.

If they were Asian they could have been Bansai, although arranged out of order.

Little know fact. It's actually a combination of two Armenian words -- "sab" which means "Screw you bro, I'll just make my own damn cymbals.", and "ian" which means "son of".
