Default Quick Drum Survey

Hi guys,

In my high schoolís math class, weíre currently doing a unit on surveys. Each of us has to do a survey as a graded project. Naturally, I though Iíd do one on drums. The survey is mainly about gear and gear preferences. We have a limit of 10 questions, so it doesnít have a question for everything. Itís pretty quick, and shouldnít take more than a few minutes.

Hereís the link:

Done.

Happy I've got a kit size that isn't on the list, that explains why it's not what I want :-)

That was more fun than the surveys I have to do for work. Peace and goodwill.

(I didn't classify my kit as "vintage", cuz I don't think of it that way. It was made in 1980, which is nearing 40 years old....perhaps it is...)

Just took it.

You only had two sound profiles for cymbals. My crashes are HHX, which to me is a combined sound - they are darker in terms of sound and fullness, but they also cut like a bright cymbal would. They are by far my favorite of any crashes I've owned in my time as a drummer.

Yes. Iím going to leave it open for about a week so I can get a nice big sample size. Once the results are in, Iíll make a thread about it. Even this early, some definite trends are emerging!

It assumes you play one style of music and use one configuration, but I play a few styles and use different configs. I assumed the q's as what is the favorite style and favorite config to play.

Complete.

Note, you're missing "Low" tom tuning, which is in between JAW and Medium.

I like to call it "JAJAW", or "Just above, Just above wrinkle"

I voted multiple times, to increase your "N". Nah just kidding-interested in the outcome. Maybe if interesting results you can ask questions about geographic location of participants-see if any difference by country-US, Canada, UK, Australia, etc. , or asked years played to see how experience affects outcomes?

Good marketing tactic!
Taking a survey sounds like fun ...getting polled sounds like it would hurt.

Hey everyone, quick update. Iím going to cap the survey off at 200 responses. Once it hits 200 the link will close, so if anyone hasnít done it yet make sure to get your responses in soon. I have to say, the amount of interest so far has been outstanding, thank you so much guys! I couldnít have done it without the help from Drummerworld.

Thanks,
OldReliable

Thatís one of the things that I knew Iíd forget! Sadly, If I change the survey now it will invalidate all the previous responses. Sorry about that!

Actually, I had both those questions on my draft. Unfortunately, my teacher limited us to 10 questions, so I couldnít ask all the questions I wanted. If I ever do another one of these well in the future, Iíll be sure to ask that.

We just hit 200! Thanks so much for participating, guys. Since the survey’s done, I’ll collate all the results and post them on a new thread in the coming days. I couldn’t have done it without DRUMMERWORLD! Mods, can you close this thread? Since the link is closed, the thread’s pretty useless.
