2 ply ported reso head: anyone?

Hi! I was wondering if someone have any experience with 2ply reso heads, I think that it could work because it will reduce the sustain and increase the low frecuencies but the main problem is that I like mi BD reso head ported. I thougth that I could melt the hole with a hot can so that the heat melt the head and seal the space between them, I've seen it and it looks easy to do but I don't know how is going to work in a 2 ply head.

the main question is if I'm going to ruin the 2ply head for melting a hole in it.

thanks

Get a kickport for the hole once its cut and it will keep the head together.

ive used 2ply ported reso on my bass drum... sounds amazing..

the stock tama reso's are like a powerstroke 4 equivilant made by evans.... sounds freaking amazing!

do you have a sound file or can you describe the sound. and also, how did you make the hole (cut/melt)?

its a big warm punch... dont have a sound file though, sorry.

put one of these on your reso head, not on the edge, probably about 3 inches away, wherever you want (probably the side that has the least amount of stands). if you put it more to the top it'll have a slightly different sound than more to the bottom.

get a sharp knife... stab the skin and cut around the ring.
