used DW kit & ZBT cymbals for 30K ?!?

The Exotic finish is Twisted Tropical Olive, which is no longer available. Aside from that, I wish the seller all the best in garnering the asking price (tongue in cheek).

This is Twisted Tropical Olive:

The kit in the ad is Twisted Rainbow:

Tris Imboden perhaps?

I think you nailed it. Same Twisted Rainbow finish with gold hardware, same gold Gibraltar rack with curved riser bars, same set configuration, same gold DW badges. Looks like this is the kit.

I guess if you are a big Chicago fan, then this may be something you want, but surely not for $30k, or even the sale price of $29k.

Just for posterity purposes, here are images of the kit for sale:

Damn ur right. Those r pretty much identical kits!
Anyway i think the seller ran out on coke and weed. He clearly also doesnt know much about drums

It's actually only 6000.00 but it has 23000.00 worth of moon gel on it

Damn near spit my water out when I read that.....

But the ZBTs......I mean those add like $400 to the price right? lol

LOL!

The seller states in the ad that, "the set sounds incredible". I think the seller should have spent some time photoshopping out all the layers of moon gel before that statement was made. Then again, this whole ad is pretty hilarious!

But he swapped to Evans heads.......the famous guy played Remos.....but the Evans...man they sound great with 10oz of gel stuck to each one......

Seriously 3 gels per batter head? What's in the bass drum for muffling, a dead body?

Here's a more driver's seat perspective which seems to make the case.

This thread is seriously missing the DW defender to yell at all of us and tell us to stop picking on DW drums.

It's still a funny thread but it is sadly incomplete with him.

Gold is $2,188 an ounce today, so I think the kit is a real bargain. Besides those hoops would be way too soft to stay tuned, so you'll want to rip them off anyway!

He's listing it as a 20pc---obviously not a drummer---and the hardware is corroded! The sad thing is he will probably find some even more clueless idiot to buy it :(

Wow... There's 22 full visible moongels in one of those pictures above. Why doesn't he just hit a cardboard box?

I still think there is a dead body in the bass for sound "deadening".....since the gels wouldn't stick to the vertical surface and all....

Oh and when played with Chicago (assuming that is the right guy) I don't see the metric ton of gel used......

I still think you guys are over-reacting to the price. I already pointed out that there's over 25 US dollars in moongels alone* on the kit so you really can't lose.

*(assuming $6.99 per 6 pack and averaged)
