I'm wanting to go the software/sequencer route to create drum beats & loops with an acoustic drum set and/or sample sound files. Up until now, I've been using either my real acoustic drum kit or a Yamaha Motif keyboard with sampling capabilities, onboard drum library - and a hardware recording sequencer to create anything from full songs to simple loops...
I'm looking into software for "SAMPLING" like (example: MOTU MachFive Universal Sampler)... I'm also looking into additional drum software like "Additive Drums" (although I don't know if something like this will be necessary for my applications.) Last but not least, I'll of-course probably need a smooth running a software sequencer with multi-track recording capabilities.
Can anyone give me some pointers on where to start? What kind of programs to use? What kind of MAC I'll need. Thanks...
