Hey Drummerworld.

Need a little assistance and I guess well... some confidence in a new setup for a different kick drum sound.

Kit I use is a 100th anniversary Ludwig Classic Maple
22X16 Bass Drum

Currently using
-Aquarian Super Kick II (Batter Head)
-Remo Ambassador Ebony (Reso Head)

I've been thinking about this setup

-Remo PS3 (Batter)
-Remo Fiberskyn Ambassador

Any ideas of whether this will get me a low tone with a bit of punch?
Going for a Led Zeppelin - Fool in the Rain type kick

I know I don't have that kick drum size for it but I don't like no for an answer.

Thanks

Sounds good to me, I use the same but a Amb coated reso.

Don't forget thats a studio recording, and always hard to do identical.
I also heard (from PFOG on here) that its one of the few/only Zep recordings where they got Bonzo to remove his reso head for recording the bass drum (as some studio engineers prefer).

Ahh I see thats good to know thanks opentune! Some "goodful" insight there; you know with those powersonic batters will they just muff the kick up too much? I've heard good things about em.

Cheers!

if you wanted a more zeppelin sound, you should get a coated head. if you want the real bonzo sound, he used a remo coated emperor with a felt stripe and a remo coated ambassador as reso
