After how long should I replace my snare drum's batter head?

that depends on how much time the head has been played. if it continues not to hold tuning (having to continually be re-tuned) then definitely it's time for a change.

there's no "set in stone" rule regarding changing heads. some drummers change more often that other due to the amount of time the heads have been on the kit, how hard they are on the heads, along with other factors, etc.

as your ear gets more tuned to the sound of a drum/kit you'll know when that "sound" just isn't there anymore.
