I have some news about some upcoming drum show events that you fellow drum geeks might be interested in and also some news about some changes at Not So Modern Drummer magazine.
The Nashville Drum Show, NashvilleDrumShow.com is Sept. 29 & 30 at the Nashville Fairground Expo Center. Admission is $15 and exhibit booths are $200. Keith Carlock is headlining the show on Sunday night. He will play with Wayne Krantz and Nate Wood. Other performers include POCO and the Midnight Riders on Saturday 30. We expect this show to rival the attendance of the Chicago Drum Show. Lots of vintage, custom and major manufacturers gear at this show.
The Snare Drum Olympics, SnareDrumOlympics.com is a publicity event that showcases the best snare drums in the world. Anyone may enter a drum they have built or manufactured.
Not So Modern Drummer magazine. The print quarterly magazine has been discontinued and replaced with a free email monthly magazine. Sign up for your free copy at NotSoModernDrummer.com
The Blue Book of Drums is the new NSMD print product. The first annual edition will be issued in early 2013.
