Looks like a nice product. Sonically, the jury is out for me.

But with the blank plate in place, it sure de-clutters the kit.

SoCalMike: Do you do a plate I could put on my blue Vistalite kick?

Let me know... Thanks!

Wouldn't it be simple to use a sheet of plexiglas and use a solvent (like acetone) to chemically "weld" it to the kick drum?

But is that removable? The plate is 100% reversible.

I may PM you about the possibility of a plate for a Ludwig Accent Custom Kit.

I know you said you were working on Mapex, have you made any for other brands yet?

Nope. The only way to remove it it a bolt-on. Chrome would look ok on an acrylic shell.

After the overwhelming response I would like to Thank You all for the nice and positive feedback posted and pm's I'm getting on these plates.

Just to let you all know I have contacted Yamaha at the NAMM Show and waiting on a response from them on these plates before I continue on.

Thanks Mike

The response will most likely come in the form of a Cease & Desist letter from their attorney. It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. ;)

Mike

I think you next brand should be TAMA, many owners and many non-virgin bass drum out-there. I'll order mine in vintage silver when they'll be created & ready to ship.

BTW, they are class, very well done ;-)

Ahhh, I haven't checked in on this for a while, the evolution is interesting! Nice job Mike! You might consider personalizing the plates for an additional fee?

Also, (real) wood plates would look nice - like the badges you see on some custom drums.

Ooooh ooooh! Another idea! What about "hood ornaments" for drums? Little crosses, Buddhas, or even actual car hood ornaments? I'd roll w/ something like that. :D

Not when you are dealing with a company of any size that has attorney's on staff and deeper pockets than you ;-) Especially if it gets into violating copyrights!

Mike I have to say those look incredible!!! Very cool, I'm guessing by the look of the newest one Yamaha has replied to you on your request?

They look great! I'd love to have one on my stage customs. Countersunk allen headed screws would look the best but i believe the material is too thin to attemp it. What do theese plates go for?

Yeah, I'd love one that could fit a Tama bracket (naked or with logo, doesn't really matter).

I think those look fantastic. But was wondering if it would be possible to have a small stove bolt type with no slot or recess in the head.
