I've had a lovely day. Thanks again for your part in it :)
Madge, I'm referring more to the reaction from the guys here. You're an absolute darling, & I appreciate your thanks very much. If you had a good day, & feel even slightly more motivated by Mabel's new voice, then job done as far as I'm concerned.

A new sound does take a bit of getting used to, so give it a while. If it eventually doesn't sit well with you, let me know what you'd like to change, & I can guide you through a few steps you can try for yourself.

I kept the toms at a similar pitch to your previous tuning, because that is what you gravitated towards by your own efforts. You tried to replicate the sound in your head, so it's not up to me to change that. If I'm helping someone with tuning, I try to avoid forcing my own idea of a good sound onto another player. It's your kit, not mine, & not your teacher's :) My personal preference would be for a slightly lower & wetter tuning, but I'm not Madge, & I think Mabel's sound works well with your style of playing. Anyhow, your preferences will change over time, & no doubt so will your tuning choices. Every aspect of drumming is a journey, & tuning is no exception to that.

Well played Andy!

It's really great to see people committing random acts of kindness.

Get him a bottle of Jack Daniels, that's a proper American thank you.

I can say honestly that he is the biggest contributor to this forum. Probably has the most minutes of playing posted, most text posted (he writes a book with each response) and is always positive and occasionally inappropriate but positive and helpful at avery chance. I have benefitted greatly from your efforts Andy- A very sincere thank you!.

Not resonating much at the moment Bob. My bearing edges are very tired & I could do with a tune up myself.

Damn, I need to work on that aspect. I could use a dose of Watso to help me along ;)
