Snare pad not responding correctly

So I have a Roland electric drumkit which has been working fine until recently when the snare pad wont respond to my hits correctly. Certain areas on the pad respond as if I hit the rim instead of the snare. Tightening and untightening havent solved the problem and everything is correctly installed. Any help?

Hey Aethyrvorous, what kind of Roland pad is it? I had this recently with a PD-120. After time the foam cone can disintegrate to the point it no longer touches the mesh head. The center piezo is now covered by foam & the rim piezo is exposed & starts responding to a lot of the snare hits instead of the center one. I got a new cone from Roland for $8.50 Can & problem solved. You could also try lowering the sensitivity on the rim & raising it on the snare. Let us know how it works out.

I agree. Check the piezo first and if not that then the foam. Youtube has pretty good tutes on how to replace roland triggers. It's easy enough.
