Amazing double stroke roll!

Huh????? Your comment is so vague and generalized I almost think you are trying to be funny.

I think he's just trying to say that accenting the second stroke helps both sound even. It's an old trick. Some of the double-stroke roll rudiments are notated with accents for the second note as a matter of fact.

I haven't heard of Rufus Jones before, where have I been. Those are some scary double stroke rolls!
Good musicianship as well.

Maybe this is more clear:

RLLRRLLRRLLRRLLRRLL...

If you begin a series of double strokes with a single, they will likely sound much more even. It will prevent the tendency to accent the first note of the double.

I get what you meant, I have been slaving over doubles for the last year and am finally getting my dexterity on accented triplet inverted.....RllrrlLrrllr......

I guess just hearing it like, hey put one foot in front of the other and TaDaaaa, you are done, sort of made me cringe.
