DTX-900k Hi-Hat Cymbal

Anyone own a DTX900k like me?
If so, are you happy with your hi-hat cymbal and sound?
If so, I must be doing something wrong. I am having to really force the pedal down to get that lovely 'chip' sound on full closure. This is NOT natural.
Is it the supplied Yamaha stand that isn't up to it?
I have upgraded from a Roland TD4kx which had a lovely stand alone foot pedal and worked well. The Yamaha Hi-Hat is a serious disappointment - thus far.

Otherwise, I am well happy with these new DTX pads - great!

Have you messed with the settings in the module for the hihat?…I have the same module and hihat..thus far I've been pretty happy with it…doesn't require that much force to close hats..no more than a real hihat..
