Rediculously Massive Drum Kits

I've always been a fan of Robert Sweet(Stryper). He always plays some very cool kits. Check it:

Christ Almighty! I remember than back in the day. I never was able to figure out how he got his stands to look like that.

I'll throw mine into the mix if ya don't mind, Zam.....

I don't think Simon's kit is that frightning. It just looks like a typical 80's kit with a set of octobons. Seems normal to me. Hell i was just as bad.

I know, I know, not cool, but that misspelling in the title is really starting to yank my chain ;)

Oh geeze, I'm embarrassed! For the record, it's a typo, I know how to spell ridiculous.

I went through the American public school system, please forgive. :)

Is that a marching snare drum in the picture second from the bottom.
Oh i hate to be that guy. That is unless he wears ear plugs.

Some really frightening kits here. I never played anything but a 4 piece. *shy*

I find it funny that the word ridiculous is being used. If the music calls for it and you utilize them and when come out enhances the music then its the right kit and drummer for the gig. I play smaller kits now but I still love big kits, all the possibilities, all those colors to choose from. A large kit does not = over playing. the trend now for the young players is 4 piece kits so therefor anything else is ridiculous?

If I was playing prog I would have a huge kit for sure. Drums are not one size fits all and there is NO correct size kit.

I guess I will just have to go through the rest of my life not being cool ;-)

Whoa. That's about all I can say. You really should put this up on the My Kit thread along with specs. This is one of the pimpest kits I have seen around here in a long time.

Yeah that is an awesome kit there. I would love to see some different angles and maybe a white background for more detail? Some sound clips too. I m jealous and I think its time to start playing the lottery.
