What song are you playing on drums?

Jacob Van Leppekin II by Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Viscera Eyes by the Mars volta!!!

trying some jazz, Kind Of Blue - jazz is bloody tough, just when you think you have the beat you realize you don't - at all...

i think i'll stick to rock!

"Dora The Explorer"

Take a guess at why.

uh, a little afraid to?

assuming you have have daughters about 4 years old, or you are really hard up for a gig?

my youngest is three and she actually says "Dora rules!"

I've been jamming for the past couple days on a couple different songs:

Like A Rolling Stone - Jimi Hendrix (live at monterey pop festival)
Your Mama Don't Rock and Roll - Kenny Loggins
Wicked Rebel - Slightly Stoopid
Open Road - Slightly Stoopid
and of course
Hey, Hey, What Can I Do - Led Zeppelin

Those are just a couple i've been digging lately. Mitch Mitchell's drums in Like A Rolling Stone sound really good to me for some reason, maybe cause he's Mitch Mitchell.

Well,

I'm doing David Lee Roths' "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody".

Doesn't seem too difficult, but there's a few subtleties in here that are hard to hear.

But definitely not too flashy of a drum part. ;-)

Pat Metheny - First Circle

It's somewhat of a change for me, I was feeling the need for something to break me out of a rut.

Also Radiohead - 15 Step and 65daysofstatic - Welcome To The Times a lot lately.

Individual songs I'm working on:

Phish - The Stash
Medeski, Martin and Wood - Latin Shuffle
Mars Volta - Wax Simulacra
Tool - Lateralus

I'm with you guys on the whole-album thing though. I've been running these a lot:

John Scofield - Uberjam
Tool - Aenima
Battles - Mirrored
!!! - Myth Takes
John Mayer - Continium
Stanton Moore - Flyin The Koop
Bill Stewart - Think Before you Think

last week iwas learning an album

Practising to improve: 4-way coordination, keeping time vs playing time.
