TD-12 with TD-6 controller

Hey all,

I've never owned an electronic kit, but want to get one so I can practice more without disturbing the neighbors. As such, I don't know much about the different offerings.

I found a TD-12 kit with a TD-6 controller for $1000. Is this a good deal? Will the TD-6 controller limit what I can do with the kit (does it support all the triggers, etc)?

Thanks for any advice you have!

As long as the kit has all of the td-12 hardware (i.e., pd-85 tom mesh pads, pd-105 mesh snare pad, kd-85 mesh kick pad, MDS-12BK V-Drum Rack, cy-12r/c cymbals)...and it all works, then I would say that's a real good deal. There are two td-6 modules that have been produced by roland: the td-6 and the td-6v. Hopefully, it's the td-6v as it supports dual triggering on all toms. Nonetheless, if the rest of the kit is a td-12 kit (and in good shape), I would seriously consider it, cause you can always update the module....and yes there should be enough inputs on a td-6 to support a standard td-12 kit...:)
