What's your "day" job?

Notice how i put "most students" and not all students ;)

Anyway i have met people who were law and English students, in fact 1 family member and 1 godfather are both lawyers and my grandad was a leading english academic.

unfortunately you've missed the deadline to "only" pay just over 3 grand a year for a degree so either move to scotland or wales or alternatively you'll just have to put up with it, since i doubt they're going to go down...

Oh yeah I know...I had the urge to go back to uni a couple of months ago and realised it was too late to get in before the price rise. Oh well :/

Currently a GCSE student.
Hoping to either get an astrophysics/space science degree and find a job in that area or make money from my band as either drummer or singer (although I think the astrophysics is more likely).

I'm a retired Air Force/Airline Pilot. My last flying gig was the 747. Now??? I 'm a nursing home administrator. That makes sense doesn't it? Just trying to do some good before I meet Saint Peter. LOL!!!

I was supposed to be a musician. And I was, for a few years. But I couldn't make enough money, so I hung up the sticks and looked for a job that paid me real money. I bounced around, did this and did that, eventually my older brother got me into his electrical business. A year later, in 1990, he left his business to join the electrical union. At that point I started my own company and took over the business contacts that had given my brother his work. So I've been an electrician for 22.5 years now. That's a long time to do something you really didn't want to do in the first place. Right now I am pretty fed up doing electrical work, but it lets me live where I do, which is awesome, and until my house is paid off in 2014, I will continue to be an electrician. After that I will scale waaaay back and play lots of gigs like I was supposed to do in the first place.

I am a schlep working for the man who is holding me down and constantly taking more of my money to spend on dumb things so etc etc etc...................you get the point.

I am an architect because they got to know through an exam that my aptitude is suitable to be an architect. I never even knew what an architect do. and i still Wonder., :p

Hmm, I am working in area of IT as a some sort of supervisor in global company named Teradata. That is all about it. :) I like it still.

I work for the government of California shoving papers from one side of my desk to the other.
I work for the DMV and got tired of getting yelled at by customers in the field office so I promoted to headquarters. I now write reports and answer letters. I hate it. Sitting in a cubicle for 8 hours a day sucks. My back hurts from sitting too much and the more I do the more I realize how much government money we waste on crap. By the time people get to a level where they can go something about it, they don't care anymore. I hate the fact that I spend all day and expend all my energy into something that has nothing to do with my life. I hate that I can't get a better gig because I have no flexibility in being able to gig. I can't leave early on Fridays to get to a club, or take a couple of days off to go to a casino gig. I'm thinking about quitting and trying to gig and give lessons. We could live on what my wife makes but it would be tight. I'm just not sure I want to be that irresponsible. I also don't want to be this miserable for the next 30 years until I retire. By then I will be too old to gig much.

I manage a team of social workers, working with adults with disabilities and other issues.

I get so frustrated sometimes I need to play drums to survive.
