Default Re: Why drums?

In all seriousness it started as a job obligation and I wanted to do it properly.

In addition, most musicians are closet drummers, right? Just too loud in our parents' minds so they tried to steer us in a different direction. lol

Also, when I first got out of school I had a health condition that made it difficult to practice guitar in the ear based fashion that at that level was the only really relevant way to practice anymore. Focusing on learning the propper technical aspects of playing the drums represented no such problem. My job was teaching guitar, drums, bass and ensemble full time, so no pressure of keeping my at times very high guitar gigging chops up. It was good therapy when the pain was too intense and kept me busy.
So, kick drum...or...bass drum? I'll tell you what. If it's 18" or less, it's a FOOT TOM.
