A drummer friend of mine, Al Hicks, went to study jazz in New York after he finished high school. He met and struck up a great friendship with jazz legend Clark Terry. For those of you who don't know, Clark Terry played with the likes of Duke Ellington's band and was mentor to great names such as Miles Davis.
Al is now in the process of making a doco about the great Clark Terry, following his mentorship to three different musicians including Al himself. 'Keep on Keepin' On' is an independant/self-funded project so for anyone interested I'd like to share a link to the kick-starter website where people can view the trailer of this project and be free to make any donation they wish or none at all.
I'm no jazz drummer myself, but greatly appreciate what is being done here in the name of music and one of the legends of it. If nothing else, the 'Keep on Keepin' On' trailer is an entertaining 5mins!
