What's your favorite sounding rock snare recording?

Moon, always recorded pretty well I think. Premier?
Although Moon played Premier drums for most of his career, the snare drums he used for his later recordings and on stage were 8-lug Gretsch DRB Special snare drums (he had lots of them). But he also played Premier Steel snares until at least 1969 (some live pictures show a steel snare). I guess the switch to warmer sounding Gretsch wood-snares came with the Tommy-Recordings. He used some Premier wood-snares later, too (again visible on some pictures of him from 1973/74).

That said: The snare sound on The Who's "Who's Next" album is really great.

I love the snare on Soundgarden's Down on the Upside, wouldn't call it THE favorite but it's certainly up there.

Love Bruford's snare on all the early Yes albums. Alan White, not so much.

Another snare sound that pops out at me lately is Paul Hammond's sound on the two Atomic Rooster albums, Death Walks Behind You and In Hearing of...

Grand Illusion off the new Barry Gibb album. Great production values overall, too.
