Deep purple highway Star

Starting 30 years ago, various bands I have been in have played this tune, and just like all the other bar drummers I have seen, I always felt like a jerk off cause I could not pick out all the drum fill breaks and flubbed my way through it.
Well last night, after not really listening to this song for like 8-10 years, I hear it on Sirius, and I hear every note and totally understand how to play it for the first time. Weird, after time, sometimes the veil just comes off. Now to work on the relaxed lope of the groove of the song.

yeah, sometimes time away and development from outside sources is enough to make something click. I love it when I've suddenly figured something out without working on the problem head on.
