Annoying problem with the hats!

Hi guys! I've been having an annoying problem with my hi hat stand; the rod is tilting and taking the hi hats with it and it makes an awful sound when i hit them so I was wondering if it ever happened to one of you and hope you can give me any tips about how to fix it. Yeah the stand is not quite a pro stand but dont know if I can do something to fix it while i buy a better one, hope you guys have an answer and thanks in advance!

I don't know how competant you are with the kit, but have you screwed in the stem? if it is fully engaged then I don't see how it can tilt i.e. shift to one side as the outer tube will stop it. Can you photograph it or describe better the stand you have. Is it 3 legs or 2 etc.

Take it apart and put it back together. You'll learn a lot doing this.
