So I have been having a blast with rock band (I know probably just about the lamest thing I could say around here) and have been interested in playing drums for a long time. I saw a dtxpress III on craigslist for $400 and talked him down to $300. I live in an apartment so I can't have an acoustic set and I as this is a new hobby I don't want to drop $$$$ on this thing. Will this be good enough to get me started and is there a different set that I should look to find second hand that might be better for the (super low) price range? Also what sorts of options will I have for connecting it to my mac? How difficult/expensive would it be to put a mesh snare (if I found I liked that better) and/or a more cymbal shaped high-hat on?
