Default Steve Maxwell Cymbal Toppers

Has anyone tried these yet? I just saw them pop up on Reverb.

Edit: here is the product.

I'd imagine they work about as well as just having a standard sleeve with a felt glued to it (so it doesn't fall off in transport), unless I'm missing something. They do look better than just a sleeve on a threaded post I suppose.

I added the pic above. Iirc there used to be t-tops, maybe Camber, but they don't show up very often.

$10 each? I just use threaded coupling nuts. About $1.50 on ebay.

These were originally the Billdidit brand (remember the Coady Clutch?), and Sabian partnered or bought them, without much success. Didn't know Steve Maxwell grabbed them.

The Camber T-tops (aka toppers) are still around but getting harder to find. I use them in town and on tour for quicker set-ups, and no lost wing nuts or felts.

Good info. Thanks everyone. I read just wondering if anyone knew about the SM toppers. Bermuda, those Camber toppers are really what I would like to find.

Some of the established shops might have some around from the old days. Most recent distributor was Universal Percussion (Cannon.) I got some from Explorer's in Kansas City a few years ago but I'm sure they're out by now.

I'll call around. I'll be in Austin soon, and a few other places in TX, so maybe I'll have some luck.

Try Tommy's in Austin, Rockin' Robin's in Houston, and Lone Star in Dallas. A full-line music store that's been around a while might have some as well.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be all up in that area for a while.
