This was posted on my Facebook from Modern Drummer and thought I would share it with you.; He is using 2 floor toms, one on each side which is something that I thought was a relatively new concept and his hand playing is innovative for the time period as well I believe.
He is fast, when I watched it I thought he was playing at one point with 2 sticks in each hand but it was the speed of his playing showing up on the old flim.

Actually,Papa Jo Jones and Louis Bellson did do some solos with two sticks in each hand. There is a lot of guys out there who still believe Bonham invented playing drum set with the hands.Clearly Papa Jo and Joe Morello started doing that well befor Bonzo, and I suspect though I can't prove that Gene Krupa did it even before they did.

Papa Jo was also known for a fast foot.

As far as the 2 floor tom set up,Krupa also did that on occasion in the late 30's,up until the 60's.If you look up some older 50's and 60's Slingerland catalogs,Krupa is on the cover with 2 and floor toms..left and right, and the one on his right is a 20x20 monster.
